The UCPN Maoist, activists have staged demonstrations in different parts of the Capital on Sunday protesting against the hike in fuel prices. Fourteen different Maoist associations including its youth front—Young Communist League (YCL)—have staged protests in different parts of the Capital namely Maharajgunj, Kalanki, Balaju, Satdobato, Koteshwor, among others.
It has been learnt that vehicular movement in the valley has been affected owing to the protest. The protest will continue till noon in order to pressurise the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) for withdraw its decision, which has put the general public at inconvenience, YCL Capital In-charge Chandra Bahadur Thapa informed.
